Just who am I, anyway?

I have a group of email addresses for "Potential Recruits" which is made up of people who have expressed an interest in an Avon business at some time in the past few years but have never, to my knowledge, gotten the "show on the road." Every couple of months I email those folks to give them updated info on incentives Avon is offering new representatives, just in case the timing is now right for them to get going.

Most of the people on my PR list have never met me and know very little about me. Earlier this week I decided to change that, so they would know just who this Sandra Moore who keeps contacting them is. Below is what I wrote, after my introductory comments to them. I decided to share the email on my blog, because most of you do not know me either, and perhaps you'd like to know more of my story than what you see in the description on this page.

Just over 29 years ago, I was a new stay-at-home mom after being a secretary for 8 years. We had moved into a new house in the Harvest/Monrovia area just outside of Huntsville, Alabama, and I had a baby girl, Bonny. There was an older Avon Lady who came to my house to deliver my Avon products and she asked if I might like to become an Avon Representative. I had not considered the business until she asked me, but I had a history with Avon products on both sides of my family: My maternal grandmother sold Avon for a little while in south Alabama, and my paternal grandfather in West Virginia collected Avon bottles. I decided that being a representative would be a good way to get to know some of my neighbors (we were assigned territories back then) and make a little money of my own for extra things we might want to do. I signed up, and have not missed turning in an order every two weeks in over 29 years!

Since I had a new baby and would have another, a boy named Seth, just 22 months after the first, my business was small in the beginning. I took on the task of being nanny to my two nieces as they were born over the next few years, and my business continued to be a small one. By the time Bonny was ready to head off to college, I had built the business up quite a bit and had also become involved in the Leadership part of the Avon business, meaning that I was recruiting and training others to be Avon representatives. I've been doing that for more than 15 years and have added more than 200 people to my team, (which I call the Cloud Climbers), during that time. Of course, since not everyone remains as a representative for as long as I have, not all of those are still Cloud Climbers, and currently there are about 45 on my team. Rose Circle ($35,000 in yearly sales) is my current sales level, and Gold Ambassador ($4,000 in team sales each 2-week campaign) is my Leadership level.

Just a few more personal facts about me: I'm married to my first and only husband, Gary, who works for TBE contracted to NASA in the Space Program. Basically, his job is to name all the things on the Space Station. One reason I am pushing extra hard these days to build my sales and my team is so that he can retire in just a few more years. We still live in the same house in Harvest/Monrovia, although we added onto it about 16 years ago. Our daughter, Bonny, is turning 30 this year and is back living happily with us for now. Seth is turning 28 and on his own. Neither one has married...yet. Avon is still my full time job, and my other interests mostly revolve around my church family at the Madison church of Christ. I teach 3 year olds on Sunday morning and coordinate the preschool department, teach Bible Correspondence Courses by mail, and teach through World Bible School online. I also like to do personal one on one Bible studies with others when opportunities arise. We own two cats (I can tell you a lllooonnnggg story about our cat experiences, but I won't), and we enjoy yard work and growing flowers, veggies, and fruit. Oh, I almost forgot, we have started learning about and using Essential Oils and I have a small business in that as well.

Okay, now you know about me. You know that I am not employed by Avon, I am an Independent Avon Sales Representative, which is the same thing you would be if you decided to become one of my team members. You can start small and build big like I did if you choose, and you can get involved with Leadership and build a team like I did if you choose. The choice is yours, and it will only cost you $15 to get started. There are links below my signature where you can view the blog I write about Avon, become one of my team members, or purchase Avon through my eStore if you love Avon but are not ready to join Avon. The other link is for Bible study, and it's a very good one too. If you would like to connect to me on Facebook, this is the link to my personal page: https://www.facebook.com/sandra.l.moore  and this is the link to my business page: https://www.facebook.com/sandramoore914/?fref=ts. If you want an idea of what you would be selling as an Avon Representative, you can see most of the products that Avon carries in different categories through this link to my Pinterest page:  https://www.pinterest.com/sandra914/.

That's all for now. Go out and make it a great day! That's what I plan to do. And if you have any questions for me at all, just ask.

C9 Cloud Cimbers Unit Newsletter

This is the Newsletter that I send to my team of Avon Representatives each campaign. See what we are up to and join us in the journey if you like!

Greetings, Cloud Climbers!

How many of you watch YouTube videos from Avon or some of the top Avon Representatives like Emily Seagren and Lisa Monoson? Emily is the expert on social media marketing, but I really enjoy watching and learning from Lisa. Here is a link to a great video she posted just a few days ago on "17 reasons you aren't getting orders."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5iXrPWD1mI  We can learn a lot from those at the top. I know that none of us have hours on end to watch these things, but a few minutes spared now and then may be worth it if they help build your business. I posted another one from Lisa on the Cloud Climbers Facebook page recently in which she talks about not giving up on your direct sales business before giving it a chance and not jumping from business to business. I've subscribed to her YouTube channel so I can be kept aware of her videos as she does them.

Top Ten in Sales for C9

 1. Steffanie Erdelt
 2. Suheidy Colon
 3. Ruby Nunnery
 4. Darren Mannahan
 5. Maria Loza
 6. Rene Parker  PC
 7. Brenda Taylor
 8. Sharon Tibbs
 9. Gladys Faulk
10. Carolyn King

We added two new Cloud Climbers to the team this campaign, but they won't have orders until C10 or C11. They are are the result of some of Avon's advertising campaigns and the ALMA system whereby Leadership Representative can get leads to work with from those who have expressed an interest in learning about and possibly getting started in an Avon business. Avon would like for all new Reps to be on teams with mentors, as the more help a new Rep gets the better it will be for them and for us all. I request leads from all over the US, and these two newbies are not in the district most of you are in. I hope we will be seeing more and more of these Representatives from other areas as part of the Cloud Climbers team over the next several months. With all that being said, I want to welcome Kristi Strode of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and the Monarch Division, and Jessica Martinez of Forestdale, Alabama, and the Heritage Division. We are glad to have you Avon Ladies on our team, and we pray you will have much success with your new businesses!!

I recently read the FAQs about New Avon LLC and I think you should too, since you and/or your customers may have some questions that can be answered with this information. Here's a Snip of the part of the home page where you will find the link.

I have highlighted the link and the link above it, as that is another one that you need to read. The Insider News comes out every Friday, so you can read it over the weekend and stay up to date on the latest happenings with Avon. Also in that list of links, but not highlighted, is one that says "Build your business with AVERY." Did you know that you can print business cards for your business through that link, as well as labels for your brochures? You can even include a QR code for your own eStore on those business cards and labels so that customers who like to shop via their phones can go right to your eStore by scanning the code. When you read the New Avon LLC FAQs, you will see that Avon is working to make our eStores more mobile device friendly, so that QR code will be even more useful in the near future. You might want to click on each one of those "Other Helpful Links" if you have never done so, to see if they contain info and items that are truly helpful to your business.

I don't get a lot of feed back from you, although I welcome it. Your suggestions are always welcome if they can help me or your Avon team mates improve our businesses. Today I want to thank Barbie Breen for her comments in response to the part of the customer reminder I sent to you about posting your eStore link on you Facebook friends' walls. She reminded me of something that I knew but had forgotten over time. Here is what she said:

"Hey…will actually get more hits if you can get your friends to like the post on your wall.  And you make it public.
For a friend’s friends to see your post on that mutual friend’s wall, they’d have to actually go to the person’s wall and/or be your friend as well."

So, I have reworked my post and I will put it in my Customer Reminder, which I have not yet sent to my customers. Here is what it will say:

"I know that several of you have accounts on Facebook. I am trying to spread my FB reach a bit and would like to ask if you would be so kind as to post my eStore link to your page one time. All you need to do is cut and paste what I have written below into your status. If you will do that and I get a new customer from your recommendation, I will give you a 10% discount on your next Avon order.

My Avon Lady, Sandra Moore, has just celebrated her 29th anniversary as an Ind. Avon Sales Representative and plans to continue her business for many more years, if the Lord wills. If you do not already have an Avon Rep., she would love to have your business. If you live in the Harvest/Monrovia/Madison/East Limestone area, you can ask her to leave an Avon book at your house. If you are outside of her delivery area, you can shop for direct delivery from Avon at her eStore - www.youravon.com/smoore. If you register as a customer at her eStore, she will keep you informed of coupon codes, specials, etc. Be sure to tell her that I sent you to her eStore, because there is a perk in it for me if you do. Thanks so much!

The other thing that can help me is if you will go to my Facebook business page at this link and just "Like" the page. https://www.facebook.com/sandramoore914/?fref=ts  Any help you give me will be very much appreciated."

What do you think? Would you be willing to write something similar and ask your customers to post it? Do any of you have other ideas about how to promote your businesses? Please share them if you do. Not many of you who are on Facebook are seeing my posts on the Cloud Climbers Facebook group page, but that is a great place to make suggestions for all of us, or just to check in now and then and say "Hi!" Since I rarely see any of you in person, seeing you now and then on the Cloud Climbers wall would be nice.

Have a great weekend, and do something extra TODAY to promote your Avon business in some way!

Best Buys of the C10 Brochure. It's the Big Spring Makeup Sale!

This is the reminder that I sent to my Cloud Climbers* so they can cut and paste whatever parts they want to use and send it in a reminder to their own Customers. I will send my customers the reminder two days before my order is due and I will also post it on my blog at my eStore site and to my Pinterest board for Avon Blog Posts.

 Hello Cloud Climbers!

I'm going to start getting my reminder out to you earlier, because I am now getting reps. from other areas who have earlier processing schedules and need to get reminders to their customers earlier than those of us in the Huntsville area. I'm including in this copy of my reminder something that will be in my reminder to my own customers about Facebook posting, just in case you might want to make a similar request of your Facebook friends. Sometimes we have to just step out of our comfort zone and ask if we want to get results. As I've heard some other reps say, "If you don't ask, the answer is always no." Two of my customers have already allowed similar posts on their walls and I hope to get a few more to allow them. Here's what I'm saying:

"I know that several of you are friends of mine on Facebook. I am trying to spread my FB reach a bit and would like to post my eStore link to your page with your permission. The post would look like this:

Posting with permission from my customer, for her FB friends who are not mutual friends of mine.  I have just celebrated my 29th anniversary as an Ind. Avon Sales Representative and I'm going to continue my business for many more years, if the Lord wills. If you do not already have an Avon Rep., I'd love to have your business. If you live in the Harvest/Monrovia/Madison/East Limestone area, you can PM me to request that I leave an Avon book at your house. If you are outside of my delivery area, you can shop for direct delivery from Avon at my eStore - www.youravon.com/smoore. If you register as a customer at my eStore, I will keep you informed of coupon codes, specials, etc. Thanks so much!

I would never post my link to your wall without your permission, so if you do not mind me posting that one time message on your wall, please let me know."

Let me know if you make a request to your Facebook friends to do this and if it gets you any extra orders. I'd be very curious to hear how it works for you, and I'll let you know how it worked for me.

The Game Changers!

If you have been reading my blog or you have been an Avon customer for some time, you should be aware by now that Avon is often first to market new skin care products. Anew has always been at the forefront of skin care innovation, beginning with the introduction of Alpha-Hydroxy Acids over 20 years ago. Now we bring you our cutting-edge technologies and help millions of women look younger with "The Game Changers," advanced formulas that harness the power of proven anti-aging ingredients. These three products will be introduced in the Campaign 11 brochure, but may be available at my eStore even before then. In fact, I know that the Vitamin C Brightening Serum is available now. All 3 products are being introduced at $19.99 each.

Vitamin C Brightening Serum is a patented formula that contains a high concentration of 10% pure Vitamin C, which protects skin from sun, pollution, and other aggressors.

Benefits of this product include:
  • Skin looks smoother and clearer and even toned
  • Enhances skin clarity
  • Fights overall photo damage
  • Improves skin tone and resiliency
  • Contains Vitamin C and E
  • Oil-free
  • Dermatologist tested
  • Noncomedogenic, hypoallergenic, and nonacnegenic
  • In 2 weeks, skin looks brighter, smoother, clearer, and more even toned*

To Use: Use in the AM and PM after cleansing as your treatment before moisturizing. Gently smooth over cleansed skin in an upward and outward motion, avoiding the eye area. (1 fl. oz. Made in the USA.)

*Based on a consumer-perception study

Here's what Louise Scott, Chief Scientific Officer, Avon Skincare Institute, has to say about this product:

"Topical Vitamin C formulas help skin look brighter. Other products contain a Vitamin C derivative, which is not as effective as pure Vitamin C. Our concentrated serum is formulated with an exclusive patented technology that keeps Vitamin C pure and potent."

______________________________________________________________

The new "AHA!" from the experts who brought AHAs to you first!**  Still one of today's top skin care staples, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are potent acids that can help skin look smoother and years younger. They are one of the most effective anti-aging ingredients. Our Anew AHA Refining Cream is formulated with an exclusive blend of antioxidants and soothing agents, so you can use it every day. In one week of a clinical trial, 91% of women tested showed improvement in general overall skin aging.

Benefits of the product:
  • Suitable for all skin types (dry, normal, oily)
  • Suitable as a daily moisturizer
  • Improves skin clarity, texture, and radiance
  • Improves the appearance of fine lines and pore size
  • Improvement in overall photodamage
  • Contains alpha hydroxy acids
  • Oil-free
  • Noncomedogenic
  • Allergy tested
To use: In the AM, replace your regular moisturizer with AHA Refining Cream. Smooth gently over skin in an upward and outward motion. If you feel a brief tingling sensation, wait 15 minutes after cleansing or simply use more sparingly until your skin adjusts. (1.7 oz. net wt. Made in the USA.)

The new super exfoliator, our most concentrated peel ever, is Anew Clinical Extra Strength Retexturizing Peel - our most popular retexturizer, now available in extra strength. This at-home professional-grade treatment helps to retexturize and resurface skin in one easy step. A complex of 5 acids provides multiple benefits for every skin type. In a clinical text, based on those who expressed an opinion in a consumer-perception study: 100% of women showed improvement in skin texture, 100% of women showed improvement in sun damage, 97% of women showed improvement in radiance, 80% o women agreed their post-acne marks looked less visible, and 97% of women showed improvement in fine lines.

Benefits of the product:
  • Reveals a fresher, smoother, more radiant look
  • Improves texture and radiance
  • Minimizes the appearance of sun spots, fine lines and post-acne marks
  • Contains alpha hydroxy acid (AHA)
  • Oil-free
  • Dermatologist-tested and allergy-tested
  • Noncomedogenic

To use: Every other day, AM or PM, smooth the textured side over cleansed, dry face and follow with your preferred Anew treatment and moisturizer.  (Contains 30 pads. Made in the USA.)

Fundraising with Avon

Are you a part of a club or group that needs to earn funds to keep your activities going? Or do you know of someone in need who must raise funds for medical treatment or equipment? If these descriptions fit you, you might want to consider Avon as a fundraising opportunity. Many people do so every year, and Avon has the plan and the tools to help with your fundraiser, or to help you conduct a successful fundraiser if you are an Avon Represenative.

As a group in need of doing a fundraiser, the first item on your list of things to do is check to see what opportunities Avon has so you will know if they fit your needs. Avon recommends that you use one of their fundraising options that is designed specifically for earning the most money with the least amount of effort and frustration. Here are the options that will be offered over the next few months. (There is also a "Makeup" option.) Items offered may change with the seasons or from year to year as other products are added to the Avon line.

Bug Guard Fundraiser - Very popular during the summer months and for ball teams.

FootWorks Fundraiser

Pamper Packs - a great fundraiser for those who expect most of their
customers to be women.

You can also do a full book fundraiser, but that can become more complicated with some products possibly not being available, some products not earning the group as much money, etc. It can be done, but it can be tricky. Using a fundraiser flyer is best, especially if the ones doing the selling will be young people. Each flyer comes with a back sheet like this example for the Bug Guard to make taking the orders easy.

Most people who have participated in fundraisers in the past will be familiar with this type of flier and system of ordering, which is another benefit.

Are you ready to get started? I'd be happy to answer questions you have and help you with your fundraiser if you are in the Harvest/Madison/Monrovia/East Limestone area, or I can get you in touch with someone in your local area if you are not. Fundraising with Avon can be profitable and fun!

C7 Cloud Climbers Team Newsletter

This is the newsletter I write for my team each campaign. Click here if you would like to join in the fun!

 Greetings!

I hope that you don't think that I have forgotten about you or about getting this newsletter out, because I haven't. In fact, I think about you and it every day! Unfortunately, thinking about the newsletter and getting it done are two different things. I do apologize for it coming to you a week late.

Top Eight in Sales for C7       (Boo hoo! Only 8 had sales over $100.)

 1. Susanne Walters
 2. Maria Loza
 3. Steffanie Erdelt
 4. Gladys Faulk
 5. Rene Parker  PC
 6. Barbie Breen
 7. Brenda Taylor
 8. Sharon Tibbs

Celebrating an Avon Anniversary in April is Gladys Faulk, who has been steadily serving her customers for 26 years. Wow! Way to go, Gladys!! Two Cloud Climbers have birthdays this month - Teresa Jordan on the 12th and Franchesca Perez on the 24th. Happy birthday, Avon ladies!

I'm happy to report Avon Awards for Rene Parker PC, who achieved a PRP Sales Increase and received 25 points, and Susanne Walters, with received 100 points for being a PRP Contender. Congratulations on achieving awards for your continued hard work, Rene and Susanne. I'm not seeing anything on the list for those having direct delivery orders in C7, but I know already that there will be some for C8.

If you are on Facebook you are probably in the FB group for Districts 1136 and 1139, the two districts that Shana Fuller is DSM for. If you haven't gone to the page to see pictures from the Spring Rally, you might want to do that. I'm going to include a few pictures here for those who are not on FB. I helped with setup and breakdown and it was really great to see a lot of Avon friends that I don't see often anymore. The only Cloud Climber who came was Ramona Hyman. Ramona said she wanted to work hard on her Avon business this summer and I'm sure she felt coming to the rally would be a good start to doing that. It was good to see you there, Ramona. If I can help you in any way to boost your business, please let me know, and that offer goes for all my other Cloud Climbers as well.

Toasting to the 130th Anniversary of Avon. (That fruit punch was excellent, and we had cake too!)

Can you find Waldo (me)?

That's our Ramona in the red dress. She sat right up front so she could see and hear it all!

My C8 newsletter will be coming out in about a week, and then with the C9 newsletter you will see some changes if all goes according to plan. I say that because I have stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to invest more money in my efforts at recruiting. I have been using the ALMA system to obtain free Standard leads from Avon and those leads are generally people who are just looking into all sorts of network marketing/direct sales/home businesses. Many just click on a link and put in their information but they aren't truly interested in becoming Avon representatives. Avon has another program through ALMA whereby qualified representatives can purchase Premium leads. Premium leads are those who have clicked through on an actual Avon ad or have gone to an Avon website to investigate the business and given their information. Premium leads, by their very nature, have a much better success rate of actually starting Avon businesses. I have decided to try purchasing Premium leads for a few campaigns to see if I can build the Leadership part of my business to a higher level. For most of my time in Avon Leadership my team members have been from the North Alabama/Southern Tennessee area, other than one I had from up north a few years ago. These Premium leads will come from all over the U.S., so that means I'll have to work with different RPS schedules and I'll have to really work to stay organized. I hope this plan works out, and you will know very soon whether it does.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. I promise you will be hearing from me again very soon!
