I'll start this newsletter off with a notification about the current Preferred Preview. You should know whether you signed up for PP, and if you did, this alert is for you, especially if you have not placed an order recently and therefore did not receive a notification in your order. The PP is for Avon Prima, the fragrance Avon will be introducing in C26, and Nutraeffects, the new skin care Avon is introducing in C4, 2017. I'm looking forward to Rep Fest on the Road at the Sheraton in Huntsville next Tuesday! There is still time for you to register for this one if you are in districts 1136 or 1139, or there may be one in your area if you are in a different district. I have only heard from Benetta Staten that she is coming to our event and I've heard from Sheilia Smith and Rebecca Robertson that they plan to attend the one in Birmingham. (Is that right, Rebecca? I hope so!) That leaves about 68 Cloud Climbers who have not let me know their plans. I sure hope more are planning to go than just these 3! The main reasons you want to attend are: 1) to see some of the upcoming products, 2) to meet and talk with your district sales manager, and 3) to network with other Avon representatives in your area. Some of them may become your best friends!  There is a 4th reason, and one we all like - free stuff!! I can almost guarantee that you will get something good free when you attend. I know the first 40 to register at each event get free goodie bags and I know there are usually several door prize drawings as well.

Some of you may have seen my video posted to the Cloud Climbers Facebook page by now. In Districts 1136 and 1139 we have the opportunity to meet with Lori Ballantine, our Division Sales Manager, for a free lunch on Monday in Huntsville. There is a condition, of course, and that is that we bring someone who wants to learn more about the Avon opportunity. I am ready to work with anyone you are ready to send or bring to this free lunch. If you are not able to come due to other obligations, such as a full time job, let me know who you are sending to meet with us and I'll be there in your place and get them started on your team if they decide Avon is the right fit for their lives. Did I mention that lunch is free? Help me help you! Send me someone to work with!! :)

This newsletter is a little shorter than usual, since I have had some family obligations to take care of this week that have cut into my time. In fact, I must get ready to go put a home perm in my 83 year old mama's hair in just a few minutes. The next newsletter will include the birthdays and anniversaries for October.

Tips from the Old Files:

"I attach a tea bag to the brochure, giving my customers incentive to relax and look through it. This small luxury has increased my customer loyalty and given me great word-of-mouth referrals."

"Every month I run a contest awarding $30 to the person referring the most new Customers. This has given me up to nine new customers each campaign!"  (I would recommend making that $30 of Avon products of their choice, since that would be the same value but cost you less with your discount.)

"On customers' birthdays, I offer a discount off the total sale that equals their age. So, if they are turning 35, they receive 35% off their purchase."  (I would have to change this to just a flat discount of 20% or so, since most of my customers are well over 50!)

"I make return products available for 'falling prices.' This cuts down on the amount of my returns!"  (Now that we get one free return shipment per month, this might not be as tempting an idea. Still, if you only have an item or two that is returned and they are new items, customers like bargains and it would save you having to go through the returns process if you can sell them.)

Today is my birthday and I'm enjoying it tremendously already, since my hubby gave me two kinds of dark chocolate, a gardenia plant, and a beautiful card. I've already been eating chocolate covering almonds and now I'm drinking my cup of English Breakfast Tea while I finally get this newsletter written.

Have your sales started picking up as we move into the season when people are starting to think about Christmas? I've had several customers tell me they are Christmas shopping when they place their orders. This is the time to start buying more brochures so you can get them into the hands of more customers. If you haven't noticed, the cost of adding 10 extra brochures to your order is less than $3. Think of the potential when you think about investing in brochures. On average, you will get 3 orders for every 10 brochures you distribute, so even if only 3 of those extra 10 place orders, don't you think the investment is worth it? I'm putting a label on my books right now to encourage my customers to share their brochures with others. I'll attach the file for my labels in case you want to use it.

What about Helpers for your business? Do you use them? I have helpers in three beauty shops, one on Redstone Arsenal, and a couple of others who give me orders occasionally. I do not pay helpers, but I give them a discount on their own orders and I give them nice gifts at Christmas. You can work out your own deal with helpers, but if they want to earn on their sales, I say send them to your link to sign as representatives!!

"My reputation for excellent customer service has been my greatest selling strength. When my regular customers started referring new customers to me, my business tripled and I offered discounts as thanks to those regular customers." Jackie

"Whenever I go to deliver an order to a customer, I carry a basket of discount items that I have in stock. I usually discount the products 10-20%. I take discontinued items and other products I have taken for instant delivery. I will also order items from the outlet, like creams or trial sizes...and add them to the basket." Julie

"I have a customer base of about 150 customers. I have a file box with each name, address, and phone number. Two days before my order goes in, I make calls to each one of those customers. I usually do this during the day so I can reach their answering machine - it's quicker. I tell them that this is a reminder call and that the order will be going in. Sure enough, the phones pick up that evening. All of us are busy these days, and the reminder call is something that is always appreciated by my customers." Patti

I just noticed that I had titled my last newsletter with the wrong campaign, as it should have been for C18. I apologize for that confusion. It made it hard on me trying to find it in my email file too! 

That's it for now. You'll notice that there is no Spotlight this campaign, because you Climbers are just being quiet and not giving me anything to share. :( I'll be writing a blog post this weekend about the new Avon Onboarding that starts this Friday, September 16, so be on the lookout for that. If you have any potential recruits that are still on the fence, you might want to mention to them that the cost for the basic kit will go from $15 to $25 dollars starting Friday!

NEW! Avon Onboarding - Getting You Off to a Great Start!!




 

Avon Onboarding has arrived, and we are quite excited about this new way for Representatives to get started with their own businesses and the potential that it has for them (that means you, too!) to earn big money during the "most wonderful time of the year." So read this blog carefully to see if you are ready to make it an even more wonderful time of the year for yourself. 

Beginning today, September 16, all appointments will be done online and when a person starts their Avon business they will have a choice of three kits to purchase. The decision on which kit to choose will need to be done when the new Avon Representative appoints herself (or himself). Here are the three kits that will be available:


  


 





So, the decision to make is just how much the new Rep wants to invest in their business from the beginning. Personally, I recommend the Advanced or Premium Kits to get more brochures to pass out, because the more brochures that go out, the more potential there is for orders and the more money can be made from the very beginning. Plus, the Rep will have products to try themselves if they are just getting to know Avon products or to sell to customers even before submitting their first order.  

With this new Onboarding method comes the Kickstart Program, whereby a new Avon Representative has the potential to earn $1,010 or more in their first 90 as a business owner. This graphic shows the details of how $660 can be earned on sales to customers:


While the new Representative is working on customer sales, they can also be identifying those with which they wish to share the Avon opportunity. For each friend who joins the new Rep in their new business and becomes a Qualified Kickstart Representative themselves, the first Rep will earn a $50 bonus.  
 


When they meet the sales goals and also add 3 team members within their first 90 days, they receive the Bonus Kicker of $200, which means they will have made $1,010 in their first 90 days of business!!

C18 Avon Cloud Climbers' Team Newsletter

Greetings, Cloud Climbers!

I'm a bit behind on this report, but for a very good reason. My mama has been in and out of the hospital 4 times in the past month and I have been spending some time there with my parents. She came home from her most recent stay tonight, and when I talked to her a few minutes ago she was trying to read all the notes and paperwork that goes along with learning you have aFib, getting a Pacemaker, being put on new medications, etc. I sure hope that this last trip to the ER will be her last trip to the ER for a long time. I am thankful to live close enough to my parents to be able to help out when I am needed. They have helped me so many times throughout my 59 years and now that they are turning 83 and 89, it is time for me and my siblings to help take care of them.

Her plans for right now are to sell to her family and daily contacts and not to try to build a large business, due to constraints on her time, but she expects those few customers will keep her orders above $100 each campaign. Who will be in the Spotlight next? I need to hear from you, because I don't have anyone else in the queue right now.

Tips: 
 "I love sales so I always have something in each brochure on sale. My customers know to look for it. Sometimes it is a new product, so I discount the price even more, or other times it's an established product." 

"I keep a list of all my customers with their birthdays recorded next to their names. I let them know that with any orders they place in the month of their birthday, they receive a 10% discount. It has really increased my sales. "

"I hold a drawing at the end of each campaign, putting everyone's name in a 'hat' who ordered during that particular campaign and I offer a full-sized Avon product as a prize. The winner also sees their name on a flier put out with every book I deliver. They always enjoy receiving a prize and seeing their name in print."   (You could put their name in your next emailed customer reminder, and you could do it just once a month instead of every campaign if your funds are tight. Putting it in the reminder lets everyone know you really are doing the drawing. SM)

I'm finally finishing the newsletter two days after I started it. My mama is still doing pretty well, although she feels weak, and I'm preparing some food to take to my parents today when I go to visit. She said she wants a hair trim too, so to bring my scissors. :)
