C13 & C14 Cloud Climbers Team Newsletter

Greetings!

I'm going to get this newsletter out tonight if I don't fall asleep at the computer first. I walked about 3 miles this morning getting some old brochures out in a couple of nearby subdivisions. Because rain was threatening, I didn't want to go too far, and I had not covered these areas in awhile. Here's a bit of info you may not know. Once you are active in the Leadership part of Avon, you can order old brochures from two campaigns back @ 10 for $1 as long as they are available. We get them to use in searching for new team mates and just honor the prices from them when customers call or else put a label on them to say "Sample brochure. Contact me for a current one." FYI: I won't be ordering old brochures for C18, because I am not loving the brochure cover for that one, but that happens now and then when Avon Marketing and some of us do not agree on what is an appropriate cover. Fortunately it doesn't happen often. When it does I strategically place extra labels for recruiting or special offers on the cover and that is what I will be doing with all my C18 brochures. Another option is to flip the back page over to become the front cover and feature the "A box" that is being introduced that campaign. It really should have been on the front cover anyway, in my opinion, but Avon did not ask for my opinion. There was a discussion about the cover on the Makeup Marketing Online FB page and someone from marketing said that they sat around for eight hours discussing that front cover before deciding to use it. Eight hours?!? Oh well. Onward we go, remembering it is not a perfect world and we will not always be pleased with all decisions that are made by others, in this business or any other part of life, so we just have to work with them the best way that we can.

I want to welcome all new Cloud Climbers who have joined us since the last newsletter, including Paula Russell of Huntsville, AL, and her first team member Tisha Johnson of Toney, AL, who was appointed just today. Congratulations on getting your first team member right away, Paula! You are on your way to earning big bucks in the Kickstart program. Other new Cloud Climbers are Elizabeth Lang of Falkville, AL, Kala Edmonds of Nashville, TN, and Johnny Harvill of Nauvoo, AL. Also, Helen Keeton of Jasper, AL, has rejoined our team after a short break. Johnny and I have been communicating quite a bit and he shared some information about his life, so...

In the Spotlight this time is Johnny HarvillJohnny is 40 years old, has worked as a nurse and a school bus driver, and has been raising his niece and nephew since they were very young (3 years old and 11 months old). His nephew is now 16 and his niece is 13 and he plans to involve his niece in the Avon business to help her learn to sell and also be able to use the products as she gets older. He said that losing his mom at an early age and mostly raising himself prepared him to raise his niece and nephew on his own. His past experience with Avon was having aunts who sold Avon when he was a child and helping them with their businesses. Johnny did mention this himself, but from looking at his Facebook page I can see that horses figure prominently in his life.

Not many of you were born in July and I am only seeing Patsy Cloud (7/11) and Claire Philadelphia (7/23) on the Birthday list. Those with Avon Anniversaries this month are: April Moore (1 year on 7/18), Diane Fowler (4 years on 7/20), and Angi Price (5 years on 7/23). Congratulations to all!

I'm thankful that I haven't heard a bit of screaming or even discouraged comments from any of you about the demise of the districts and the end of having District Sales Managers. Perhaps I was closer to my DSM than any of you were to yours, because I attended meetings regularly and worked with her on Leadership things, but I haven't been screaming or discouraged either. ðŸ˜Š I was sorry that my DSM lost her job and was not chosen as a Coach in the new program Avon is starting for top sellers and team leaders, and I will miss some things about the way things were, but the time had come and that change needed to be made. Some Representatives on other teams who did not have good leaders or who weren't on teams came to depend on their DSMs for help in things that they really could do for themselves. Lisa Wilbur had some good things to say in her Monday Morning Madness call this week about how Avon really was "paying two people to do the same job" (the team leaders and the DSMs), and that the DSMs were mainly there to be trainers and now "Avon is taking off our training wheels." She was saying that we all need to remember that we are "Independent" Avon Sales Representatives and we aren't supposed to be depending on DSMs or anyone else to do for us what we can do for ourselves. She's right! My job is mainly to help those just starting out with their businesses and to encourage the rest of you along the way. I'm thankful that I have a great team who understands that and does not expect me to do the work for them. I appreciate all of you and the independence that you show in building your businesses! That being said, I'm always happy to hear from you when you have a question, want to drop me a line, give me a call, or post something on our team FB page.

Until next time,

Sandra Moore
Avon Gold Ambassador
